This 2014 60 minute long 4k drone movie of The Alps, - Scenic Relaxation Film With Calming Music, is still arguably the finest yet made. Do you own a quality 4k display? If so enjoy watching this YouTube link.

Note as a serious photographer, I have an expensive 24 inch diagonal 4k Dell external monitor I run from a Dell XPS-15 9560 laptop. Such videos can only be made where drones are allowed. I've viewed some of these films on my dated 32" 1080p TV as nature specials, however they are much more impressive on better 4k displays. I personally have related though smaller ambitions because I have many large pixel stills over 8k, not videos, that I want to publicly exhibit as immersive experiences on large 8k displays once actual Windows PC monitors (as in NOT TVs) become available.

Here in the US, most of our parks do not allow drones because they can greatly interfere with visitor experiences. IMO, such videos in the future ought still be allowed under limited commercial individually planned, defined, then allowed requests. By flying well above the ground, such drone cameras can often record from more ideal positions than are possible from any ground positions. That is especially true for rugged mountains where even accessing ground locations may require serious alpine climbing gear and considerable logistics.

The above video producers have since created a whole series with dozens of these drone films that this person has barely watched but little of. As an old landscape photographer, I do have an appreciation for what must go into the quality to create these films. They had to figure out where to fly, what exact time of year to fly within perfect weather, and use the highest quality cameras of the time able to be flown on a drone. More about the producer:

This page details David Hutings photography journey that eventually used the Sony A7RII flying on a DJ1 Inspire1 X5 who now runs his company out of San Diego. As the first person venturing successfully into this market, he has over the last decade attracted other videographers across the world into his business that are now collaborating with him. Although watching such videos will arguably be a better experience than watching stills for many casual audiences, looking at highly detailed ground based stills does have innate immersive advantages.

You are so welcome, Thank You.

I hope my most important contribution to the world during my brief lifetime is to share our precious planet Earth's scenic beauty and wonders in order for other humans so they may better appreciate its value that is under so much threat in this technology era due to powerful economic and wealth forces. I have been so fortunate and blessed during my lifetime to have seen so much though as a peon limited to my local region, have barely scratched the surface of what is on our vast incredible planet. I could spend many lifetimes visiting and experiencing these places, a prime reason I will choose to live forever if possible.

The above shallow stream pool was taken in early August of 2016 is in the John Muir Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada at about 11,500 feet. over a dozen miles and 4000 feet higher than the trailhead. And colorful golden trout swim in the waters. The Alps with more glaciation are further north than California.

I've just seen this David, and I've saved it to watch at my leisure.

I've driven over the Alps twice.. and through the Mont Blanc tunnel in thick snow and ice during winter... very scary experience I can tell you...
