I was watching an old rerun of Frazier. He and his brother were doing a scene in the coffee shop. I happened to notice the people in the next booth. They really looked like they were having a real conversation. They didn't look fake or acting. But they couldn't have been, a real conversation would have interfered with the "brothers" conversation. When I was in the Navy, through the USO, I got to see Broadway plays, generally in the first row. I saw the same thing. The background people really looked like they were having a genuine conversation. I wish I knew how they did that so realistically? If you're watching a show, check out the background people.
