"The Beverly Hillbillies" observes 60th Anniversary

"The Beverly Hillbillies" premiered on American TV on September 26, 1962 and had a 9 season run. The episdoes centered on a nouveau riche family from the Ozarks that move to Beverly Hills, CA and the awkward situations it causes for them and their neighbors as thay struggle to understand modern urban conveniences and amenities.

She has since died, but Donna Douglas (Ellie Mae) was a beautiful woman until the end.

She lived near Baton Rouge, La., in the country, and I had the opportunity to talk to her on a few occasions when she came into a company that I worked for at the time. ... and the men there fell all over themselves to help her ...lol
She still had that star power about her.

Growing up in Southern Calif and watching the show I ‘got’ the west coast jokes. Took moving to GA to get the Southern jokes . Loved Granny. I have had patients just like her… sometimes it was hard to keep a straight face!

Once was channel surfing in Quebec and came upon Beverly Hillbillies broadcast in French. Was twice as funny for some reason.
