The bill for my RD surgery

Good thing my insurances picked up most of the tab, but over $8 for a some of those drops of medicine in one eye!!! It also stated that I may be billed for other services separate from the surgery.

Holy Moly! Do you have an advantage plan through BC/BS? Is that what the last payment is?

BC/BS is my Medicare supplementary insurance.

Back in the 80's I watched a show that picked apart someone's hospital bill. $2.00 for ONE tylenol. You can imagine what they charge today. It's an outrage. I think your payment is reasonable. My stepfather has supplemental though his county retirement and of coarse my mother took advantage of that also.

I had to pay $325 out of pocket for the CT scan I had. For some reason I got an $80 refund check from my MD office.

Should edit to add, my angry is for the cost, not at deb in any way.

What is the amount for the surgeon. These seem like just costs related the hospital. He’s the one who makes the big bucks.

Well if you think that's bad you should see all the stuff in the rooms that the patient is paying for that isn't touched and gets thrown away when you leave. I'm sure that drives up costs.

There was a codicil to this bill that said there may be other charges, as I mentioned in thr OP.
