I've never seen a movie that did Beth Short's story justice. Somehow, I don't believe the police in this case really cared about Beth or about finding her killer because she never held a job but just sort of drifted around Hollywood stiffing guys for dinners and drinks while leaving them wanting more (ie - sex) and they believed she somehow got what she deserved, but who deserves the torture she suffered? Det. Harry Hansen ran the case and never had a good word to say about Beth, yet she was so elusive and secretive even the few friends she had did not really know her. The real question in this case is was she murdered by someone she knew, or was she the victim of a stranger.
