The Buy Gold Nonsense You Hear On The Radio Is Hooey

Oh, I would much rather invest in gold than anything!
Gold you can hold in your hands!
I did that once but hard times hit and I had to sell it.
It did save me though!
You just need to know when to buy and when to sell.
 
People have been 'advising' me to 'buy gold' for 50 years, (I never did, and it never reached the price that I was assured would be "Any day now").

My point was when retirement comes, or some immediate emergency, and you are loaded down with gold, you don't have a choice of when to sell. If it's during one of those deep loss valleys on that graph, lots of luck.

It's like silver coins. You sell when it's high. You don't hang on to your "collection".
I see what you're saying though.
