The Consequences of Long Lockdowns

I heard the debate on the radio this morning about
motion/travel sickness, people have been at home for
so long that their brains have lost the ability to handle
movement, or maybe speed, there are many cases of
people feeling nauseas during journeys, no matter the
vehicle they are using and not just children either.

Another one that I have experienced, is busy roads, all
full of traffic, the main roads around where I live have
been terrible, since things were eases a couple of weeks
ago.

Then today, I noticed that the main roads were all clear
and the smaller ones were solid with traffic, somebody
in their wisdom has changed the traffic light sequence
to give more time to the Major Routes and less time to
the side roads, I was in one line at some traffic lights,
about 14 vehicles from the light and every time they got
to green, 3 cars got through, I was not too happy as the
main road was clear.

No link about that observation, I am sorry.

Mike.

Since the announcement on Friday that crowds could return to sport in Wales-albeit you can’t as yet just turn up-I have felt different.I am more relaxed....I I feel happier.
I have no problems coming out of lockdown but there was a suggestion on the radio at the weekend that those who are against the end of restrictions in England on June 21st are so not because they are afraid of Covid but because they are so used to living with them they can’t envisage life without them.

The lock down had little effect on me. I work part time now but I'm an essential worker so was employed. I missed thrift stores being open but that was about it. The little discovery shop was closed over a year. They just re-opened last week with reduced days.

We are far behind most people as far as this pandemic is concerned. We have just been told we can travel to other communities meaning we can get our vaccines now if we want. We couldn’t get them before since we were in lock down.

As far as traveling goes? I can’t comment since our lifestyle has changed more due to retirement than anything and I’ve actually been travelling more over than last 5 months than I had before.
