The Daily Print Newspaper: A Dying Breed?

I still get the Sunday paper, here. I enjoy relaxing on the couch, and reading it.

Our local newspaper is such a pitiful thing, mostly advertisements.

I worked for six years at one of the large city newspapers. On a good Sunday, our classified section alone could reach to 75-80 pages. The Sunday newspaper was so big, that half of it was delivered on Saturday afternoon. There were two editions every day, the early and the late.

Now, THOSE were the days of "newspaper! It was an exciting place to work.

I like to get a paper on days I do laundry so I can work on the word puzzles and on Fridays for the "Go" section which has all the local events for the coming week, new restaurant reviews, new movie reviews etc. I hate the Sunday paper because the advertisements make the paper so big and bulky I almost need a fork lift to pick it up. I usually prefer reading the news but I can do that online. I read conservative news then liberal news and figure the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

The only major paper in this area has always been a leftist propaganda sheet.
We do read the monthly local paper.
