The Dangers of Medication

I just turned down a med for my immunodeficiency orders that requires constant monitoring of my liver, kidneys and heart. If its going to kill me, I will live with my issues.
Hope you made the right decision, you probably did.
You have to marvel at the list of possible side effects they slip in at the bottom of the drug advertisements.
Problem is those lists are pretty meaningless without statistics, 100% or 1 in a billion, big difference. Those are mostly lawyers doing the CYA...

I like the possible side effects of the Heart Attack Grill Diet, its at the end of this short video. Truth in advertising for sure.

Hey, I am with you kaydee! I faithfully monitored my blood sugar twice a day for years, then after my wife died, I had a period where I just didn't care any more. I returned to my usual diet (not recommended for Diabetics), and stopped pricking my fingers. If I have to go, I have to go! Eight years later I am still around! I do not recommend my foolish life style ... just saying!

One of the possible side effects of a drug for constipation was.....drum roll.....constipation. Wha????
Reminds me of the lawyer ad for cases involving the Shingles vaccine:
"If you were diagnosed with Shingles after receiving the Shingles vaccine, call..........."

Old school here. I pay little or no attention to TV ads. If my doc gives me a prescription, I fill it and take it. If I kick off , so-be-it. I have to assume he knows more about it than I do.

Made it to almost 90 using this "method". Who knows how I'd have made out by "playing doctor" at an advanced age.

Sometimes our systems require "tweaking." In the past, anti-depressants made me aggressive and belligerent. Opioids, despite their bad reputation had no effect on me. Sleeping pills kept me awake, yet drowsy for up to 18 hours, etc. etc. Over the past ten years it has taken quite a few calls to my doctor in order to change a prescription to something that was more effective for my system. What I wouldn't give to be normal! :ROFLMAO:

Dr's are human and make mistakes too. We were trying to avoid Nurse practitioners all together because one gave my husband a BP pill that did not go with another pill he was on(tried to tell her) long story short he was in 4 hospitals, liked to have died. A Dr. did same thing last year with a fluid pill and AGAIN tried to tell him he could not take it, found my husband 2 days later on floor in a pool of blood and head wound. We spent 3 days in hospital.(never again will I not listen to my own common sense)We no longer see the NP or Dr. she was working under or the other Dr. either.Just because a Dr. gives you a pill does not mean you have to take it. I think common sense goes along way, good food and exercise goes a long way for us. My husband would be on about 9 pills a day if I had not Said"No" . He takes 2 now and one is for reflux which you can get over counter. He says he feels great and he is 79 .It is scary the amount of pills people are on when diet and exercise can fix a lot.

I am not saying some people don't need some medications but some don't either JMO.

I did find a NP that I like, she does not push pills and listens so we are happy with her.

I hope things work out for you and you feel better!
