The Forum is Quiet - Tell a Story

Always loved this movie, especially the very last scene

I had a doppleganger as a kid. It was very unsettling. I first saw her when I was about 8 in Miami Beach and then I saw her in my neighborhood. We would just look at each other uncomfortably. I think I saw her twice in my neighborhood, so I only saw her around 3 times total. We didn't like it.
I was once queuing in the bank when I saw a girl reflected in the glass on the other side of the bank and, if she hadn't been chatting away to someone, I would have thought it was me! Oddly enough, a little while later, the bank made an error on my account and wrote to me to explain and apologise, apparently they had mixed me up with a customer of the same name! I did wonder if it was my look-a-likie!

MANY years ago, I sent off my tax return and realized the next day that I had made a BIG mistake. I called and asked what to do. They told me to submit another tax return with the correct figures and write AMENDED RETURN in red at the top of the return and also write it in red letters on the face of the envelope. So I did just that.

A couple of months later, I got my tax refund for the incorrect amount (too much). Two days later, another check came for the correct amount. I called IRS again and asked what to do with the incorrect check. Just hang on to it, I was told, until I got a letter asking me to send it back. So I did. A month passes, two months, three months, no letter. I call again and am told the same thing. Four months, six months, 9 months, a year. I call again; same instructions.

After a couple more months, I put the check in an envelope and sent it back registered so I could prove they got it. I never heard anything about it.

I often wonder what would have happened if I had cashed both checks.......

When my brother was a boy, a stranger asked him for directions to the nearest Bank.

My brother gave the man the wrong directions on purpose. My mother asked him why he did that and my brother responded...

"Because he had a big crooked nose and I thought he was a bank robber!"

I guess my brother had been watching too many cartoons where the bad guys all had big, crooked noses or something. :)

Our two sons were 14 years apart and our youngest thought his older brother was beyond special.

When the youngest was about 4, my wife made him a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch and he asked
to have it cut in half.

When my oldest returned home from school and was in his room for a while, we heard a loud 'WHAT'
from his room.

I was up heading his way when he met me in the hall and said 'look at this'!

Wanting to share with his brother, our youngest had put one half of his sandwich in the slot of his
game system.
He knew 'Tonybrother' always played games when he got home and thought he might be hungry.

I calmed things down and told Tony I'd replace it and his brother just wanted to share.

The look on our youngest face was 'What did I do wrong?'

Had to explain if he wanted to leave any 'gifts' for his brother, to give it to us and we
would be sure he got it.

I might be a 'Disaster Indicator'.

You might want to think twice about hangin' out with me, as I seem to be around when bad things happen.

Here's a list of Events where I just 'happened' to be living:

1975 - February - Shemya, Alaska - 7.6 Earthquake
1980 - May - Mount St. Helens - Eruption
1992 - June - Moreno Valley, Ca. - 7.3 Earthquake
1994 - January - Moreno Valley, Ca. - 6.7 Earthquake
2010 - May - Nashville, Tn. - 100-year flood

Survived 2 Wars.

I'm still here, so best stay away. Something is sending me messages...
