The sun will turn into a red giant and burn up all the planets in the solar system. And then it will turn into a tiny white dwarf and that will be the end of life as we know it. Of course, we won't (hopefully) be around as a species anymore by that time.

Although, if space exploration and flight advances enough in the future, humans could be living in some other far place on a planet in the universe. That could happen, I guess.

I know there are many more important issues but this is dear to my heart.I think that it won't be long before the only way we will be able to view wildlife will be in zoos. Such a shame. Ice is melting, development of areas that were forests and mountains not to mention garbage and pollution in our oceans and streams.. The list goes on and on. I really am glad I won't be around to see the devastation.

Maybe a good idea to put a limit on the future. 100 years versus 10,000 years for example. Artificial intelligence and the rising ocean levels are my concern. I read "Physics Of The Future" by Michio Kaku and it is a startling revelation of technology in the near and far future. He breaks it all down by time periods. For example 2070-2,100 he states, "We will control computers directly with our minds." He says in general we will be able to photograph our thoughts and dreams. Cool,no?

I understand your concerns but keep in mind we have the ability to solve problems but getting the right people to do the right thing is the difference be tween success and failure. Right now engineers are working the rising water levels coming to the East coast.

Running out of places to dump our garbage. Trash fees here are going up all the time.

in all actuality, there is no garbage

We make it garbage when we toss it in the can

Even then, the refuse folks sort it

A little effort, and that concern becomes nonexistent

It's sad how an important subject like the future is treated with infantile responses. If you think the future is funny then you are a problem.

I was hoping for a mix of serious and humorous answers.Think I got that. Now if we could just find a cure for death....:D

No room for humour in the future you think perhaps?

I hope to find lots of humour around in my own future, and think that blessing should be spread liberally around, even when serious matters are at stake - nothing seems so bad after a good rest, or a change or whatever takes your mind off the "problem" for a while - if that makes you think "I'm the problem", so be it .
