The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: Li-ion Battery Powered Bikes

I actually rode one of those about 20 years ago. My friend bought one, although I don't think he used it much. It was more of a wild hair purchase. I didn't get very excited about it when I rode it, but the concept was interesting.
 
Yes, exercise, but there's something just plain fun about pedaling the standard bike. I don't know why it's fun. It's just a good feeling being engaged with the bike and you furnishing all the power, and you can cover a huge amount of ground in a short time. That was my reason for biking, which I did every day back when. I also had a motorcycle when I was younger. That was fun too, but for completely different reasons.
 
Instead of replacing bike tires it's seems the cost will be in batteries, chargers and tires because that's extra weight on the bike/tires.

They say the market is flooded with poor chargers and batteries. The biggest issue is once the battery is fully charged it should stop charging but they don't on many of these mobility things.
