The greasy spoon diner after the bars closed.

Back in your "courting days", when the bars closed, did everybody collect at a greasy spoon diner for good old comfort food?
My romping days was the disco era. You had to douse yourself with aftershave and wear your zodiac medallion with your open shirt. Just like Travolta. After dancing and drinking, we stopped at a greasy spoon diner. The 'chef' was an alcoholic looking guy, who always had a lit unfiltered cigarette in his mouth. No because in the 70's here in the Uk the bars were open later than the cafes'... so if we came out of the dance hall at say 2am on a friday night the most that would be available to use would be the bakery that we had to pass on the way home, where they'd just baked the first batch of morning rolls, and we'd go buy some from the loading bay where they were cooling on trays.. and eat them hot...

Oh gosh, it was a zoo!

Almost everyone was drunk and ordering things like certain body parts with beans, and just hilarious. The fights in the bars had already been resolved and all were happy and loud.

How the waitress stood it, I'll never know
