The Great Brown Spot

Every winter there's a brown spot in the lawn. It doesn't get any larger or smaller. In summer, I can't tell where it is because it's the same green as the rest of the lawn. What's going on here?

We get the same thing on the area in front of my condo. The landscapers can't figure it out so they ignore it.

UFO landing site perhaps?
More likely a fungus. It tends to make circular areas like that. Likes cool, wet weather and goes dormant when it's hot and dry.

I agree a small sign should take care of the problem.

It could also be a form of brown patch fungus.
