The 'Japanese Bob Ross': How a 73-year-old artist took YouTube by storm

A 73-year-old grandfather may seem like an unlikely social media sensation, but Japan's Harumichi Shibasaki is defying stereotypes.
The painter's YouTube channel, Watercolor by Shibasaki, features a series of how-to art videos and has amassed more than 700,000 subscribers. His most popular video, a tree painting tutorial, has been watched more than five million times.

Since Bob Ross was mentioned in the subject line, here is the ENTIRE collection of his shows. Though I don't paint or draw, when I was home sick during the day, I enjoyed watching his show because it was so relaxing. The link seems to want to turn into a "MEDIA" link and only display the first episode. If you want to see the entire playlist of all 403 episodes to pick any one to watch, just go to youtube.com and search on "bob ross all episodes". You will then see the entire playlist as one of the first items found.

The rest of day time TV made me want to kill myself. Terrible stuff - game shows, soap operas, and those shows where people sat and talked about their sex lives. Did people REALLY watch that stuff?

Since we don't watch regular TV, I don't know whether that stuff is still on these days or not.
