The Lead Scare

We are constantly being cautioned about the Lead in some of the things we ingest.

When I was a boy in the early 1940's, my pals and I used to roam our local wooded areas with our Daisy Red Ryder BB Guns, pretending to be great hunters.

We used steel BB's until the Government banned steel for all but wartime weapons production shortly after Pearl Harbor. (No more automobile production between 1942 and 1946)

Then the BBs we bought were all solid lead.

Rather than carry them in our pockets where they would get tangled with lint, we carried a bunch of them in our mouths, making reloading clean and easy.

No negative health issues ever resulted from this.

That's all...
