Simply because most pubs are much more like restaurants these days ( Gastropubs)... some of the best chefs started in pubs :D One of our top TV chefs here jamie Oliver was raised in a pub to a father who was and still is a chef, and that's where he learned his trade. We go to Jamie's mum and dad pub often, the food is delicious . although Dad no longer cooks at the pub except on special occasions

I think it's great idea the YP and mincemeat.... I dislike mince pies because of the swet pastry so I'd be willing to try this...
 

I always wondered why Yorkshire pudding is called "pudding," since to me pudding is a gloppy sweet concoction in a bowl. So I had to google to find out. :D (To me, that's a popover, baby.)
 
I LOVE Yorkshire Pudding .. had to acquire a taste for mince pies, but like them now. However, if I had a choice, I'd rather a black fig pudding.
