One of my favorite things to enjoy is watching great film making. I love all kinds of film, but there are some truly remarkable films that top my list.

Today I'm watching "RAY" the life story of Ray Charles. Starring Jamie Foxx, the film is a tour de force.

For anyone who loves music, this film is fantastic. Songs include, "Unchain MY Heart", "Hit The Road Jack", "Georgia On MY Mind" , I Can't Stop Lovin' You", "I've Got a Woman" , "What'd I Say" and a dozen more.

Listen to what was said about this film.

"Jamie Foxx stars as the-one-of-kind innovator of soul who overcame impossible odds to become a music legend. Ray is the triumphant and remarkable story of one of America's true musical geniuses, Ray Charles. From his humble beginnings in the South, through his meteoric rise to the top of American music charts. Rays inspirational journey is a tale of hope, redemption, and the power of the human spirit. "Ray is electrifying" hails Peter travers of Rolling Stone. Witness the incredible true story of a musician who fought harder and went further than anyone could imagine".

I was transported to another time. Jamie Foxx IS Ray Charles.

"One of the best films I ever saw" Joel Siegal, Good Morning America.

If you intend to purchase this great film, try to buy the uncut extended version. If you have any soul, I guarantee you'll love it.

Have you seen it ? Tell us what you think.

It is a great movie. In my opinion , it’s one of Jamie Fox’s greatest acting roles. He actually sings quite well and he played the character of Ray Charles remarkably well. So good.

I’m a singer and keyboardist so I thoroughly enjoyed the music. The female singers were excellent. I loved the movie. It’s one of those movies I’d watch again and I’ve seen it twice already.

I watch "Ray" also every time I find it listed. One of the best. I also love Gone With The Wind.

"Ray" was a fantastic movie. :) Jamie Foxx certainly earned that Oscar.

btw, Traveler, you should change/edit your thread title to reflect what it's about - the movie Ray.

I haven't seen the movie but from reading the posts I guess I need to.

Ray Charles had so many great songs but when someone says, "Ray Charles" the first song that comes to my mind is the duet that he did with Willie Nelson singing "Seven Spanish Angles".....I could listen to it over and over.

(The song ends at 3:46)
