The oceans might be the answer to the soil and health

We have been hearing that the soils are mineral deficient and quick proof is that you have to add fertilizer to grow good plants. Then you need to use an insecticide.
Well when humans get all the nutriments we need we are not only feel good but very resistant to disease. Plants that have very good nutriments become healthy and disease free. As we know that rain dissolves minerals from the soil and it ends up in time in the ocean.
My curiosity said why not use sea water to fertilize our garden and with a quick search I was very surprised to find that it is used for years. Although these people are selling thing that I would go to the ocean and get our own or find a fisher man who will bring you back a few gallons from out in the ocean.

Fruits and vegetables take different chemicals from the soil a quick search will tell you that for example Apples mg/110g calcium 3 magnesium 3 iron 0,1 a melon calcium 7,6 magnesium 7,6 iron trace amount orange calcium 37 magnesium 10 iron 0,1 these could be growing in the same soil. The apple is the only one of these that picks up sodium 0,1 Here is the mineral differences of two fruits that could grow side by side

Fruits and vegetables are very selective about what they absorb and concentrate. The ocean has 90 minerals which at one time the soil had. Minerals have the ability to cancel each other for example mercury – selenium if you have too much mercury you use selenium and if you have selenium toxicity you use mercury. The oceans are trying to balance themselves all the time. It would be an interesting study to find a plant who concentrated different minerals so we could use them like mercury to clean the soil or gold to help our wallet.

Using too much sea water can also kill your plants, it's quite a balancing act as it is with other fertilisers. Using salt for killing weeds, moss etc works well, but make sure there is no run off into your garden This from Garden Web.
I feel pretty comfortable saying that with the garden taken as a community of plants, any amount of seawater is still not a good thing.
