Still using an electric one, but, I have a spare one just like this for emergency (or motor home) use.

I finally got rid of my clear glass Pyrex pot, it made great coffee.

Years ago I had one of the chrome plated electric models that I used to set up after dinner, when I was cleaning up the kitchen, and plug it into a lamp timer so the coffee would be ready in the morning when I stumbled into the kitchen.

I had one just like in the OP’s picture, then later a glass pyrex, then bought a metal one again for the RV.

For most of my life, I drank perked coffee. Although I now have a drip unit on my counter, I still own two percolators (one stainless and one aluminum). I always forget how much hotter perked coffee is but the first sip reminds me.

I used to have one exactly like that, @Jazzy1. Now I have a plain old Mr. Coffee.

I used to have one with a timer, too, so I could get that dose of caffeine ASAP in the morning.

I grew up with the Pyrex Glass perc.

I still have an old fashioned, stove top percolator that I inherited, as well as a drip-o-lator coffee pot too.
But I used a modern coffee maker for years after the house was mine.
Then I became concerned that the new device might be passing micro plastics into my coffee, so I reactivated the old fashioned alternative.
But the percolator makes a slightly more bitter brew than the drip-o-lator. So I boil water now and pour it into the drip style pot.

That was the only coffee pot I remember growing up. Lot’s of times it was left on too hot a flame and it boiled over!

Perked smelled the best but was bitter.
Pressed or Drip coffee tastes the best imo.

I heat water for my instant coffee in a nice elec pot, and one day 10mins,
it dawned on me that the microwave is just 5feet away......duhhhh

I loved the aroma as it perked and the first cup or two. Then it became rather tar-like if it sat for an hour or so, ha!

I still have one. Somewhere... Saved to use on my little propane camping stove, in the event of a power outage.

My parents had one and I think I did, too for awhile. I have a Mr Coffee drip one now and like it better than the one with the pods that leaked water after a short time.
