Did you get pop delivered by the Popman?

I was partial to a bottle of Dandelion and Burdock,

They were before my time.

Some of our local breweries made soda during Prohibition and we also had a few local folks that made and distributed soda.

Lucky Sam was a local brand of soda.

I remember the pop man - can't remember if it was corona or not - but I also liked the Dandelion & Burdock and Iron Bru , seem to remember there was also a Cream Soda I think it was called. Also if I remember correctly - you kept your empties to return next time. :)

What a shame these pop men no longer exist.

Sorta ... The neighbor behind us worked for Pepsi and the one next door worked for Coca-Cola. I don't ever recall my parents buying pop from the store.

The "Popman"? "Dandelion & Burdock''? I have to translate into 'American' . The Sodaman. But God knows what Dandelion & Burdock is. ??????? Iron Bru? Corona?
So, Brits. please, what are they?

(BTW, yes I know some parts of the US refer to "pop" as soda.)

Dandelions and burdocks are weeds that can have edible parts.

No deliveries here in my memory. My mother wouldn't allow it anyway! For a few weeks, my dad started bringing home a 6 pack of root beer. When she caught me grabbing too much of it, she told my father he had to stop. She knew, even back, then the dangers of too much sugar. She didn't bake pies or cakes either, although we did have some cookies and jams around. The ice cream man was never denied.

If she only knew how much allowance I spent on Cokes, sweets and more sodas on a summer day with my friends she'd have a fit!
