I pulled in and the man said "Fill em up". I said, "No just give me 100.00 dollars worth".

.. sadly that's not even a joke here.. £100 won't fill the tank of some cars here... even back in 2022.. when we were paying just £.8.85 a gallon.. this was written ...

With average petrol prices rising above £1.90-a-litre and diesel edging closer to £2 this week, motorists' wallets and purses are being hit incredibly hard.

It means drivers now have to fork out over £100 for unleaded to fill up an average-size family motor with a 55-litre tank.

But there are some cars that will need to be brimmed with fuel less often than others, as motoring consumer title What Car? has pointed out.

It has named each major brand's most frugal model on paper, based on their 'official' miles per gallon (mpg) fuel economy figures.

A full fill-up for a typical 55-litre petrol car cost £72.74,

now 3 years later is's only small family saloons and smaller that are paying less than a £100 .. ($135) for a full tank

..sorry to spoil your joke, but in this case mocking is catching, it'll soon be with you too...

Gas is around $2.50 a gallon by us. Pretty low.
extremely low....

...currently ours is approx £1. 38 on average per LITRE. just for the cheapest octane 95 unleaded .there's 4.5 litres in a uk gallon... making it around £7 per gallon... approx $9.50 US per gallon

98 octane is more expensive as is Super unleaded... and is Diesel...

below are today's prices... on average... as reported in todays petrol price guide ..per LITRE

E10
Petrol
136.9 4.5 x 136.9 = £6.16 per gallon - -- $8.35 US approx
/ L

B7
Diesel
142.6
/ L

E5
Premium Petrol
159.2
/ L

SDV
Super Diesel
164.5 4.5 x 164.5 = £7.41 per gallon = to $10.05 US approx ..per gallon...
/ L

Simple solution, do NOT buy a car at all. Just rely on rented limos when needed. I can rent a limo here in CT for about $ 150. including the tip. At age 90 I rarely leave my house in any event.

I finally found gasoline that is more expensive than it is here in California!!! Yikes!

someone once said to me on here..''ah but Americans drive longer distances to get to places so they use more fuel...

what they didn't realise is that our roads are chock a block with traffic in towns and cities, whch means we sit in traffic for much longer wasting much more verry expensive fuel...

Gas at Kroger in my county is $2.499.

Gas at Kroger in the next county over is $2.629.

A huge disparity when they are only ~22 miles apart and folks travel both counties daily for their work.

I get a three cent/gallon discount at both stores when I use my Kroger card.

Washington state has a 49.4 cent a gallon gas tax only beaten out by California which has 54 cents a gallon. and Pennsylvania which has 58. Needless to say when I do get called for housing I am very much hoping it's going to be down in Eugene Oregon.

The average gas price right now is $3.99 a gallon unless of course you get to Costco then it's $3.85 a gallon. I don't think we'll ever see anything less than $3 a gallon on the West Coast.

I didn't know this thread existed so please pardon me for copying it on another thread. Anyways it was fill up time for our truck. My husband went to our nearby gas station *Cheaper than all of them surrounding us" and paid $5.89 per gallon. His total fill up was $154. and change in his 26-gallon gas tank. I believe that's the decision from higher ups within California. No political anything, just factual. Yes. We're tired. So, so, so very tired.

It really wasn't meant to discuss gas prices. It was a joke. But any comments are welcome.

I don't think the people's comments are a joke. They're truly concerned. Where the heck did that (the joke) come from? Enlighten me, will ya? I'm sure the people would like to read your opinion as well. Inflation is no joke and I'm not laughing at your input. Hello?

I don't care if your laughing or not. I did not say peoples comments were jokes, can you read good? What do you think about that?

Well once again, what was the joke per your comment? Not the general people. And I'll quote; "It really wasn't meant to discuss gas prices. It was a joke. But any comments are welcome". Oh, and thanks, I can read very well. Thanks for your concern.

A fine example of why those posting on Internet boards ought use emoticons. Especially those posting humor and sarcasm that expect what is in their own head will be obvious to others. Without tone of voice, without nonverbal face to face cues, without setting, communication is limited, dry, very easy to misinterpret, especially when emotion is an expected component.

It is in the HUMOR thread my man.
