I just looked at the price of navel oranges in the local supermarket - 2 for $3. Seems kinda pricey to me and this is the peak season. Is there a citrus shortage?
$1.00 each here for the larger navels or I can get an 8# bag of smaller navels for about $7.00. I avoid buying Florida oranges for eating. The Florida oranges we get up here in PA are always tough. They seem to be more of a juice orange. When I am in Florida, I buy an orange called a Honey something or other. They are very sweet.
Wow, the best I've found here lately was 1.29 at Aldi. But then, we are very far from where they're grown.
Tomatoes are crazy expensive here right now.
