This is by far the best series I have watched this year. It based on a novel about a young orphaned girl in the 1950's who becomes a chess prodigy and faces obstacles on the way up to becoming one of the top chess players in the world. The lead actress is amazing as is the production. Highly recommend this one if you enjoy dramas about someone battling inner conflicts and having to overcome obstacles in the 1960's.

I will finish tonight. I would have binged it all in one night if I didn't have to wake up the next day.

Adding my (y) here too.

We just finished it last night after watching 1 to 3 episodes a night for a while with some nights off. I think this is one of the best filmed TV shows these days. I also love the period filming for Mrs. Maisel as well so both these shows are favorites from that point of view.

The characters all seem fairly realistic and the acting for them is all wonderful. I also thought that the relationships between the characters were all very realistic as well.

Hats off to the screenwriters and director for making the chess scenes so compelling and exciting.

I thought Anya Taylor-Joy's portrayal of Beth was wonderful. She conveyed so much with her expressions without saying a word many times. I also loved Isla Johnston as the younger Beth who did a wonderful job portraying the character at a younger age.

I been reading so many good things about this program elsewhere, I now want to watch it.
