I now have a trash service after years of separating and taking trash and recycling to the local center.
I will still recycle large plastic items, cans, and glass however it's nice when I have company, for example, not to worry about it anymore.

Yes, it is frustrating... so many claim they have ways to use products but most of the "recycled " items end up in trash.
I worked at a store we took the plastic bags in a collection bin in front of store we had a pallet sized box to fill up in back once a month a truck came and took only if completely full box then after all collection drove to another state for a place who said they could recycle. Their plan did not pan out was very expensive for store to pay for all the collection and trucking. so........ they still had a collection bin to make customers feel like they were doing something but instead of filling box since that was gone the bags just went down the store's garbage chute.
It was ONLY about perception. very good video.
