A few wooden stakes will do just fine, but if you want the bush to really show it's true colours, attach some trellis to the fence to help support the plant.

That flowering shrub looks great!
And those trellis options pictured look great, too!

I was thinking that perhaps a circular type of trellis or support, that would stand around it, might look nice, and would be smaller and easier to handle.
 

My neighbor may not appreciate my putting anything up against his fence. I tried to take cuttings last year to try and start another plant in a different location, but they never rooted and frizzled up.
