I watched a documentary last week that scared the air out of me. One theory as to why the sub sank is nine rogue sailors boarded it with the assignment to launch the three nuclear missiles at the U.S. from a location that would get the American military to believe they came from China. The theory is the captain was physically forced by the rogue sailors to launch the missiles by entering the code. But instead he deliberately entered a destruct code that caused the missiles to launch but the doors remained closed so the sub exploded. The documentary rightly stated that one man saved the world from total destruction.
