The Search Bar on Edge

Hey...
I am baffled by the search bar on the program called Edge. I have been trying to clear the search button for a few days now...

I go to the three dots on the top left corner, and hit the history button and delete all the history, but it does not clear the search bar... I believe any other program does...

So, just curious if anyone knows how to do this. Did it once accidentally a year ago, but not sure how I got to that screen... Any help would be appreciated. And I thank you all who might have answers for me...

I go on search bar and right click highlight it and delete it. However it only works when I have edge set on 'New Tab page'. If edge home page on regular MSN I can't get them off either.

I use Duck, Duck Go as my main web browser for it's stopping tracking ability. The only time I use Edge
is when Microsoft's link for updates take me there. I just never liked how Edge was set up and if I use Chrome
for my old email account I start getting spam in my mail again.
When I first began in SF, this had the highest number of tracking stopped of any site I otherwise went to. Duck
shows me what sites I was on and how many trackers were stopped on each. That I like
