Duff house in Banff is a splendid mansion built 1735 - 1740 for William Duff. It sits in extensive grounds which now include the championship 'Duff House Royal Golf Club'. Of course no stately pile would be complete without a 'folly', and so the 'Temple of Venus' was built overlooking the Duff estate and the river Deveron.

Originally the folly had a statue of Venus, but this was removed at some point.

There is a great view over the town of banff from the temple. The bridge over the river joins the town of Macduff with Banff. The local football ground, 'Princess Royal park' is just over the bridge.

Looking in the other direction is the Doune church and graveyard. This featured prominently in 'Stonemouth', a crime drama shown on BBC.
