This was really just the saddest thing. I just did a Google to remind myself of the circumstances and found this article with the usual mother's affirmation that her son was 'a good boy', but also including this quote.

I don't think anyone here thought it was indicative of the average Duncan Oklahoma resident. But I understand how they feel about it.
Much as I and most here feel about the psychos who decided to punch out an innocent Irish tourist in Sydney a few years ago. The tourist was in a coma for months and sent back to his family to care for in Ireland, his life ruined.

The man who attacked Irishman David Keohane in 2008 was given 14 years behind bars this week by a judge in Sydney.
Keohane, 29, said the sentence was a ” good result."
Police are still looking for the second man involved in the brutal bashing.
"Good result"?? How can we ever apologize to Ireland for that?
A local teenager, Thomas Kelly, was bashed in similar fashion more recently by yet another psycho just because he was tanked on Vodka and god knows what else and felt like hitting someone.
Thomas died.
