The Titan I and Titan II ICBM Programs

I remember when this happened. Twenty-some were killed, but I don't think any radioactive fuel was leaked. This was about 1980 in Arkansas. If I remember correctly, SAC was in charge of the site. I think SAC is no more. One of you Air Force guys probably can add something to this thread. I find this type of article interesting. At one time, it was our largest missile.

Majority of my military career was spent in SAC, in one form or another.
Proud of the part we played keeping us safe and I know some will disagree.

The Sign in front of Offutt AFB reminded me every day that 'Peace is Our Profession'.

Again, many disagree and I'm OK with that now.

Not only am I and millions of Americans and our allies eternally grateful for your service but if called to commit you would do so without anger. Again thanks and GOD Bless.
