I have this love/hate relationship with the spiders around the outside of my house . They're ordinary house spiders - harmless- they weave these large circular webs in the corners of everywhere I need to go. I hate walking and getting a face full of web. eeeeewwwwww.... I have a particular little hellion who lives inside the side mirror of my car. Everyday, I have a web completely covering my side window . Every day I tear it down. I read that spiders don't like smells , so I sprayed some old cologne behind the mirror. Nope. Didn't work. Then I tried spraying soap water behind the mirror. I think my remedies just made him clean and fresh smelling. What works ? I'm so tired of my little co-pilot & his buddies . HELP !

They probably liked the cologne... surprised it didn't bring in bees, mosquitoes, and wasps, too!

Could you go at 'em with a can of Raid?

Yep I agree...if you really want rid of them use the RAID!! However, if the spider and web are always on the same side of the car, have you tried parking in a different way? Perhaps the spider is spinning it's web attached to your mirror, from a nearby hedge or fence..

We have a lot of spiders and spider webs inside and out. I've sprayed corners, especially around doorways and on the porch with a heavy mix of white vinegar and water, seemed to help, saw less webs around for awhile.

I have black spiders in my house. I see one maybe once a month, at best. If I'm quick, I may be able to swat him. If I'm a little off, he disappears into the wall. He gets his body into the tiniest of slits. You 'd have trouble sliding a piece of paper in the slit. He does it with ease. I admire him for that.

Bugs hate cold and they hate smoke too. Either you could turn on the ac in your car and see if that helps or light a taper and blow it out and let the smoke work its magic.
