There's no place like home......

Just got back this afternoon from what amounted to six weeks of taking care of my mom. I did come home for a couple of days for a medical appointment that I couldn't miss but had to go back. Seven hours of driving each way. I'm so glad to be home. So glad.

That's a long drive Jujube, I don't blame you for being grateful to be home. Hope your mother is doing okay, are you home now for good?

I feel like that even when the hubby and I travel for pleasure. After a few days I wish I were home. I miss my routine,homemade meals, and my own bed. Not much of a traveler I guess.

Glad you're back safe and sound Jujube. Hope your Mom gets better each day.

{I hate to ask this, but wouldn't it be easier to fly there and back? Despite all the negative talk about air travel.}

700 miles is a LOOONG way to drive. :love_heart:

She ended up having three surgeries with three separate hospital and rehab stays plus neverending doctor visits. It was a mess but she's doing quite well, considering.

I'm glad she's doing okay, that a lot for a body to go through. :(

Flying there involves going through Atlanta with a plane change and a layover and takes forever. It takes me about an hour to get to my airport and then about an hour to get to her house from her airport. Then I don't have a car when I get there so I'd have to rent one. And the airfare is obnoxiously high.......I could fly to the Left Coast for less. I just get a couple of good books on CD and that helps; set the cruise control for nine miles over the speed limit and sail along. It's only 7-7 1.2 hours each way and I'd easily spend that much time going to the airport, waiting in the airport and coming from the airport.

Thank goodness I bought a new car. My old one wouldn't have made it.
