They Just Moved In, Were Saved by Home's Safe Room

Wow.

We live in the South and deal with tornadoes every year. One ripped through Nashville just last month, which we sustained a bit of damage from. A lot of homes here have basement but not ours, and Ron has been talking about building some kind of safe room or shelter, though in our case it would more likely be a storm cellar underground. Most homes won't survive a direct hit by a tornado so a shelter of some kind is necessary if you don't have a basement.

The article says they just bought the house, and chose it in part for the safe room. Excellent choice!!!

my daughter also wanted to get an underground shelter
but what if there s a flood how would you get out?

My uncle in Ohio had a 'safe room' built onto his home back in the '80's. But, then again, he was a multi-millionaire.
