If you’re in the market for a vacation home — we are not, but you may be — a new report says Key West is one of the best places to buy one.

Vacasa, a vacation rental management platform, just released 2020’s Top 25 Best Places to Buy a Vacation Home report, and Key West comes in at No. 19, dropping from last year’s ranking of No. 8.

They never have to worry about me buying a vacation home in Key West. unless things have changed since my BFF and I went there in 1992...there's one road in and one road out. Evacuation would be a nightmare. Also I'd hate to have to board a plane every time I wanted to go to my vacation home, which might be several weeks a year (not concurrent). I've been avoiding flying for the past couple of decades.

Anyone thinking about vacationing in the Keys, or buying property there might want to consider how long it will be before sea level rise covers those islands. They are already considering a toll on travelers to help finance the effects of the rising sea.

And....If sea level rise wasn't enough to be concerned about in the Florida Keys....now that area appears to be scheduled for a release of an "experimental" mosquito. I can imagine how that will work out.....and if that plan is approved, these mutant bugs are set to be released in Harris County, Texas next year.....Hello Houston!!!!!

The ship I was on pulled into Key West in 1963. I remember it as a wild party town. As for owning a house there, forget it. I have been through several hurricanes and seen the damage they can do. It must cost a mint to ensure a house there, no wonder they are becoming cheap.

Looks like a trailer in a trailer park to me. Pretty expensive trailer.
