This is sad, but good. Freed laboratory beagles see sun for the first time.

Animals are a regrettable, but necessary, ingredient in medical research. We would not have had they medical breakthroughs we have today without them. Hopefully in the future experimenting on them won't be necessary. Obviously all efforts should be made to spare them as much pain as possible. I bet not too many of those who object to animals being used for medical research would turn down a drug, which would save their lives, even if animals had been used in its production. I do object though to experiments on animals for things that aren't essential to human wellbeing like cosmetics.

I agree with you Kaya, I feel the same way, it turns my stomach. And I've seen some hidden recorded videos of those people and how they treat the animals abusively for no good reason. Here's some lab chimps that saw daylight for the first time too, I posted it a long time ago on Pet Forums...

Any "society" that tortures another being just to save a being....is sick in the head. It is NOT necessary at all.

I don't usually look at vids or news stories like the op, so this is rare for me. It gets me angry. And upset. And I don't want to be either. So....I sort of regret posting it.

And yes, I would turn down a drug if it was used as experimentation on another animal.

Ok. Done with this thread.

Nothing wrong with the thread, it's good to see other animal lovers out there who have compassion. Things like this aren't pleasant, but they are reality and go on all the time. :(
