This is weird (computer antics I've not experienced before)

I was on the forums. First, I noticed that a post I had just made had disappeared.

Then I looked at the screen, and the forums took up my entire screen. There was no way to do anything, like go to the last page I was on, etc. All that navigation stuff had disappeared.

I did alt-control-delete and a log out screen for my system appeared. I logged out, then logged back in. Everything is normal now, and the missing post is back.

Any ideas about what happened? This is a first for me. No viruses or malware involved. It may be just another Ubuntu 22.04 glitch.

Not likely an Ubuntu glitch, I've noticed that the forums that I frequent that are using the Xenforo platform do that. Why? I'm not sure, but I would suspect some issue in the connection to the database. Matrix might have a clearer understanding. Could be a browser issue, Firefox can be weird sometimes, whereas
google-Chrome not as much.

Glad you and your machine are back up and running! I had a scare 5 days ago. I awoke around 2AM to a laptop that had powered itself off for no reason and wouldn't power back up. It took unhooking the power for 20 minutes and plugging it back in elsewhere - and it booted up. Then, when I put it back where it belongs, the same issue. Again, a 20 minute pause and it booted. I immediately ordered a 2T external drive and backed up everything. So, if I disappear from here, you will know that my beloved laptop bit the dust!
