This just goals, not resolutions, just things you want to focus on this year.

I have been down in the dumps, not feeling well physically or mentally. I have been thinking for weeks about what is important to get done. How to use my time wisely. How to get more exercise.

First thing, I have a already put into motion. Saw the GP for a physical and blood work. Seen an orthopedist in addition to a neurologist for my migraines, had xrays, MRI of the neck. That confirmed that I have nerves on both sides of my neck that are causing all the pain, just not the headaches but the neck, shoulders, shoulder blades, upper arms and numbness in my hands. Now I know there is a reason for all these things, it is the nerves in the neck causing the migraines and other pain. Starting on some new meds, hard core muscle relaxers, anti inflamatories and steriods. Also will be starting physical therapy/ traction for my neck.

I would like to have enough strength to plant a small vegetable garden. Just a few things. It always gave me joy to go out weed, water and see what was going well. Who does not like a squash, tomato, okra or green beans that you grew yourself.

I am just tired of sitting on the side lines of life! I want to be out there, doing it, discovering new things, making new friends, going to new places. I hope you are thinking about the coming year and the things you could do that bring you comfort and joy!!

A garden sounds like a great idea! I hope you will ease your pain and derive joy from it. Fresh veggies are awesome and so healthy.

My goal at the moment is just to do better this year and feel better. Nothing earth shattering.

My goals would be boring to anyone else but I have some that I am working on. I have always set goals but not necessarily around the new year. Every few months I just take stock of my life and make a list of what I hate and want to change and then set about working on that.

Blessed, I can quite understand how you feel. I've been feeling quite down, but I put this mainly to the weather. The garden really needs a lot of work and although I'm not decrepit yet (I'm 72) I'd like to find a way to make the work easier.
I do have a few things lined up including three trips to the theatre and a short break in the Lake District in April with younger daughter and O.H. We had planned to go to Gdansk in Poland, but daughter had rented a big house in Keswick so we could join her, so Poland will have to wait.

I do wish the weather would improve and that might lift the spirits a bit. Oh and by the way, I don't like squash and okra, but home grown tomatoes and green beans are hard to beat.
