This Single Supplement Fights Alzheimer's, Cancer, Diabetes

Mom said to eat fish. She never said to take pills. If we took all the supplements some group or other says we should take for this or that there wouldn't be room for food. A balanced diet does not need supplements.

I think people, seniors in particular, take way too many "supplements". In my opinion they are not necessary and may be counter productive to good health.

What Rky said. :iagree:

Even which fish you eat is dicey. The 'oily' fish, that are beneficial are not the ones people buy. They buy 'dry' trendy sweet fish like Dory and Sole when they should be eating Mullet, Tailer, Mackerel etc. Except in the Northern Hemisphere where they are full of chemicals and garbage anyway so may as well pop a pill if you believe in the magical qualities of Omega 3. Personally, nup. I eat Mullet because I like the strong taste of it, not for any health benefit reasons, most though won't eat it, "it tastes too fishy".

btw: I'd like to watch them prove those curative claims in a court of law. Can we sue them if it doesn't work? Dooon't think so.

Speaking of strong taste, I've just learned to eat sardines for the first time in my life. .. not too bad, as long as they are mixed with some hot green chilies. :sour:

Sardines were pretty much the snack food for a quick lunch when I was young. Still indulge in a can occasonally. I used to like the big Portuguese ones until I found out they were downright toxic from the junk they'd fed on on the way down from Norway so I'm back to the King Oscars in oil again now. Can't handle eating Anchovies though, those things make my eyes water.
