This streaming is not cheap.

I have downgraded to a "live tv" streaming, however it doesn't include local channels. I found free streaming and can watch some channels, they may not be today's version.

I am currently watching Sling free. Trying it out for free. After all it is the cheapest way to stream and get local channels.

Streaming for me is very new . We only just got Netflix and tubi and all those other stations . Surprisingly it’s not that expensive. So far, I’ve streamed Firefly Lane, Dead to Me, and Virgin River. Its a total time waster but a great way to distract from reality

Streaming movies and shows from sources like Netflix, Paramount+, and Amazon Prime is now my normal, since regular TV I find rather dismal. To save money you can subscribe to streaming sources with commercials, but I found the interruptions annoying so opted for a commercial-free “Basic” plan…

I get some local news casts on free YouTube..
Yes, I can find news free on some apps, but to find local channels, etc. isn't cheap. Sling is the cheapest, but no local channels. I guess I just need to buckle down and pay for the streaming service that has local channels. I had Hulu.

I am coming late to this so you may have already addressed it but have you tried an antenna for local channels? I can pick up my locals with a cheap indoor antenna. Here is a link to a website that finds your local stations and predicts your likelihood of pulling them in with certain kinds of antennas. https://www.antennaweb.org/

You are right that local channels drive up the price on live streaming and so do live national news and sports.

Thank you for posting, but I tried the antenna thing and it didn't work for me. I would scan my smart tv for the most channels and it worked until I signed up for Hulu. It costs about $78 for all including local channels. Sling has a lot cheaper but no local channels.

That's too bad. I really like being able to get locals. The broadcast station's antennas here are at a much higher elevation than the city.

I have Sling too and like it. They have added a ton of free channels now. There's so much more to watch than there is time to watch it already.

Well, I went back to the original plan and am very happy. Costs a lot more, but so do the others.
