This virus is killing jobs, too

We had to go to Home Depot to get a toilet seat because the current one broke, and I saw that a new clothing store, that opened up about three months ago, is closing. All those people are out of work. What a shame. We've got to open this country back up or the cure will be worse than the disease. Home Depot was full of folks, saw many people including clerks with no mask, or the mask below their chin.

The after effects of this virus will be felt for many months...perhaps years. Many small businesses, and even some major companies will probably go out of business. Unemployment numbers may not go back to low single digits for years. The list of department stores facing permanent closure is growing every week. Some of the smaller airlines have already shut down. After having office employees working from home for an extended period of time, many companies, And people, may find it no longer necessary to fight rush hour traffic just to sit in an office all day.

The longer this virus lingers, the more it will be responsible for "reshaping" our society and daily lives.
