This Was Our Water Park

They're building one of those big fancy ones near where we live, so the value of our house is moving ever downward (which is one of the reasons I wish I'd been able to convince Huzz to move).

I liked the water park in grandparents yard the best. He had St. Augustine grass and it was more cushion like when
you belly flopped.

Yes, those were good times, but my mother didn't think so - she said we made a "losh lobby mess" of "her" back yard and put a stop to it in short order.

Yes, we had one and it was fun to run through it.

The first "wave" pool in the US opened up in the area I lived in. It was nice to visit to see the girls bikini's but I had more fun in the swimming pool at home. The water park was named Big Surf. It was torn down a few years ago and now an industrial park occupies the land.

The sprinkler and a blow-up small pool - that was "water park" when I was a kid. Now and then, we got to go to a park that had a big geyser-like fountain in the middle of a concrete pad. Nothing was soft about the pad....if you fell down, you got scraped. We thought it was great, though.
