Thoughts or prayers for those who died in Vienna

I am checking with my friends and 'family' to see if they are safe. But it is a place where mum was born and lived and where I have visited on a number of occasions. It is not just Wein (Vienna), but other places/countries. How sad it is that the world is filled with violence, anger, hatred, prejudice etc etc. But there is also the opposite kindness, tolerance, compassion, consideration, acceptance etc etc. I'm going to write this, but some people might not like it, but there are often a few threads that make me think do we need to be that unkindly in the way we express our views? Because we are on a forum where we do not know the person , can see their body language, can hear their voice, I feel we need to be that little bit more sensitive to others. Yes we make our point, establish our view but it can be done in a way that might be less hurtful to others. We really don't know what other people have experienced in their life or indeed are experiencing in the present. Just some thoughts 🤗

I agree.

I regularly pray for those who have lost loved ones and/or had their lives shattered by violence. These types of things should not be happening!! But they are happening too regularly these days! Please know that people who commit these violent acts of terrorism and hide under Islam's umbrella are not true Muslims. Muslims follow not only the teachings of the Quran but the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran forbids the killing of innocents and the Prophet advised "Harm no one so no one will harm you".

Treacie, I sincerely hope that your friends and family are and remain safe! With the state of the world, all of us should pray (as I do daily) for the safety of our loved ones and a world to live in where there is peace.

I don't understand why these people hate the Europeans so much. They have found sanctuary in Europe...we have gone beyond to make them feel welcome...putting aside the interests of our own countries to do so. Yet still they hate us enough to kill innocent people. Why?

When you open that door you better damn well be sure you know what is coming in. And those who open that door need to be held accountable.
