Intelligence is limited by thought and reason.

Well that's a tough one. My first instinct is to disagree because our intelligence is always evolving.

On the other hand it's easy to see the truth to the statement. As our intelligence expands our thought process does as well, but we can only think of what we know. And our reasoning is based on experience and/or intelligent thought.

So my final answer is yes in a literal sense.

Convince me either way.

Our thought and reason is limited by our intelligence? A horse of a different color is still a horse.

Thought, Unreason and Emotional turmoil limit intelligence, or what it can do.
I agree, negativity in one's life inhibit the clarity of thought, reasoning but not necessarily one's intelligence. A self-absorbed narcissist in constant turmoil with everyone who is an emotional train wreck may be intelligent but not necessarily the most intelligent type intelligence.

Stupidity knows no bounds as there is more stupidity to discover; unlike the limitations of intelligence?
