Anyone who frequents a number of sites will sometimes run into a thread or posting that just leaves you feeling a bit queasy. Somebody idealizing suicide or talking about some situation that could be life or death. If it was real life you could offer some hands on help. But online...the person can easily be in another state, another country. Of course you run into disaster trolls who create fictitious tales of woe. Eventually you usually read into their story and discover they're only looking for attention.
But the people who come online and they should not be online with a particular issue, they should be out getting real world help. There's a dog site I go on from time to time. Usually the questions are routine...how do I find a good tick preventive, is my pup overweight, remembering Rosie rest in peace. But today somebody wrote about a pit/Dalmatian mix. Suddenly fear aggressive, growling and trying to attack other dogs, growling at humans, killing two cats and a chicken. What can she do to get him to calm down? The last line of her post says that a human baby will be coming to live with them soon.
WHEEPWHEEPWHEEP I tried to spell it out as clearly as possible. My Sophie has the same behavior she describes. She is elderly now so we just kind of step over her quirks. She is allowed near no other animals except Callie and our cats. She fears strange humans but we walk late night to stay alone. She will never meet my grandson. I tried to emphasize that even leashed and muzzled a dog can still easily kill a baby or young child...DO NOT LET YOUR DOG NEAR AN INFANT FOR ANY REASON...or she will live with the guilt for the rest of her life.
