Three Time Oscar Nominee Diane Ladd Passed Away

She was 89 and had quite a career performing in over 200 movies and garnering three Oscar nominations. She appeared in at least two films with her daughter Laura Dern. For the first time ever, a mother and daughter were both nominated for Academy Awards for the film Rambling Rose. I don't think I knew Laura Dern was her daughter before see news of Ms. Ladd's death but I knew Bruce Dern was Laura's father.

Though she never got an Oscar, Ms. Ladd did win a Bafta, Golden Globe (for a mini series) and Independent Spirit award, each for her supporting actress roles. She leaves behind quite a catalog of films; may she R.I.P.

She was born just up the road from me in Laurel, Miss.
I had also not realized she was related to Tennessee Williams.

I didn't know her. She's very forgettable in films. But Laura Dern I remember.

I was thinking of Cheryl Ladd of Charlie's Angels fame.
