The Spanish flu killed 100 million people world wide... think about that 100 million people... 228,000 people died in the UK alone, mainly young people.. of which my grandparents were... they were all in their teens at the time ... but every one of them survived.

Of course the Spanish Flu was all the more devastating following immediately after Word War 1 ended.. killing so many of the young who survived the war and devastating families worldwide...

However all that said.. can you imagine if there had been no Spanish flu ( much less 4 years prior of world war)..?.. just imagine if all those people had lived and what the population explosion would be today....

Everything in the office was sanitized, chairs, etc. Patients were seen one at a time, so the office was empty. They had me rinse with a special mouth rinse before the procedure. I felt okay having to go there, and was satisfied with their efforts for sanitation.

Yes, it was all for the benefit of both the dentist and the patient.
My daughter recently told me that in California the mask requirement will be dropped on Apr.. 3 but she
thinks she’ll continue wearing one.

She's a smart lady, being a dentist and so up close and personal with people every day, wearing a mask is a wise decision.

He is still in charge...but fortunately he has gone back to being irrelevant.
 
why was it called COVID 19, when it started MARCH 2020.......
Im sure it started much before that ....
my Father passed away December 2019....of an unknown virus !!!

The address and heading of this article quoting a virologist is here for you to read. I can only find one referring to your claim that viruses never mutate into a variant that is more deadly and it is right wing propaganda that became viral and has long since been proven over and over to be false

Thank you for the link to this excellent article. But some people here won't even read it. Instead they stick to their anxiety. Even medication seems to be without any success. Life is communication and meeting with other people, not only via Skype or Zoom (which is good nevertheless) but on the streets and at events. Two weeks ago my wife and me visited an event with about 500 people in a hall. All of them were older, most of them retired. Only two people wore masks. Not us, if somebody should like to ask.

It was a very strange experience. We were less "locked down" here than many, a rural area with relatively low infection rates. Or I was anyway. The state health department issued some things, similar to other places, but the locals only took it seriously when the Mormon Church issued similar decrees.

The gym I went to closed for a month and then reopened with distancing and cleaning requirements. Restaurants closed, for about a month, but always offered takeout. Stores put up unenforced mask requirements, but never really changed much. State parks closed to all except residents of the county they were in, but that didn't last long. The thing that hit me personally hardest was a canceled fishing trip to Canada, the border closed.

We were lucky that Covid didn't turn out to be as bad as feared, not the return of the plague. In some ways it was a kind of test of what we might do when a really bad pandemic happens. Hopefully we learned some lessons for the next time, but I am not sure...

perChance, this is sad but true.
I gave a woman in my neighborhood a paper of an Austrian gynecologist who clearly warned against getting this mRNA vaccine. She, her husband and their son believed their physician and got the vaccines including the booster. Meanwhile their health is declining rapidly, her husband in his 70s can't walk anymore and the woman's best female friend died only a few days after the vaccination. Some 25 miles away a 14 year old girl died from the vaccination. This was certified by an autopsy. I am not against vaccination in general, but I would never get mRNA vaccines.

That I think is one of the lessons learned.

To get consistent compliance the government will need to do a more effective job of openly communicating risks. A lot of people did not comply with mandates, we now know what doesn't work, not sure what would. Too much politics, too little communication of what we really knew and why mandates should be followed.

Compliance, I would posit, is doing what one is told when one is told. The only communication the proles require is to jump when they're told to jump, and the only question permitted is "How high?"

I think Americans are pretty good at responding to real crisis needs. WWII is an example, and so are some of our more recent responses to natural disasters.

However that was only accomplished by the understanding amongst the public that action was necessary and rationally based. This time around, with Covid, too many people believed the actions weren't necessary or rational. Most Americans have a pretty strong independence streak, we need to be informed and brought along when decisions like this are being made. Certainly better than it was this time.

That was back in school. I still have my text book, but I'm not going to flay that chapter open on my scanner so you can read it. Instead, as usual, I'll suggest checking out some medical lectures on YouTube. Dr. John Campbell has been discussing some interesting findings over the weekend. "Drbeen" gives really awesome lectures, too. Most are an hour long, but worth the time. Dr Suneel Dhand gives much shorter ones, and Dr. Moran does, too.

Or just write "medical lectures, virology" in the YouTube search bar.

You are misinterpreting "more deadly".

Again, more virulent, yes. More transmissible, of course, almost immediately, and that does mean a virus can kill more people, but that's because it can reach more people. But the virus itself becomes less deadly. It must make itself less deadly in order to survive. It can't keep killing its host or it will die.

If the SARS CoV-2 virus had become more deadly, the pandemic would have been over within months. It would have run out of hosts. It did become more virulent, then more transmissible, then changed tactics and attacked the upper respiratory system rather than deep in the lungs, then it increased its ability to escape the defenses of the vaccine...and it did this very rapidly, arguably, quicker than any previously known virus.
 
Keeping friends and relatives away when their loved ones are dying helps the greedy hospitals and care home dungeons to ensure they can steal 100% of people's assets when they die, which is horrendous and should not be allowed to happen. Doctors should not be paid when they can't cure diseases and instead of that they destroy people's health and well being. Right now what they do and get away with is criminal behavior.

Mine did exactly the same... I discovered it in July 2021...and all the while he'd been swearing on everything Holy, that he was keeping separate from everyone.. and following all Covid rules.. *Barsteward**:mad::mad::mad::mad:
