If you thought "Tide" was just for laundry........
Now they make an antibacterial fabric spray - "Just to be sure," as the ad says.
Notice they don't mention Coronavirus in the ad. It wouldn't be legal, since an antibacterial spray doesn't work against a virus. They're hoping most people aren't aware of that & they're so scared, they'll buy anything that kills anything.

Note the big science words after the asterisk. Wow! :giggle:

"In need of an effective laundry sanitizer? Tide to the rescue! Tide Antibacterial Fabric Spray is designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria* left behind on fabrics, as well as fight germs on hard surfaces (when used as directed). Every day, we come into contact with millions of germs on unclean surfaces. Bacteria can linger on our clothes, linens, and upholstery. Tide’s fabric sanitizer spray puts your mind at ease, killing pesky microorganisms and keeping your home sanitized and fresh. Tide Antibacterial Fabric Spray is also a great way to eliminate odors and refresh clothes between washes.

*Effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli, and Proteus mirabilis on hard, non-porous surfaces; Enterobacter aerogenes, Staphylococcus aureus on soft surfaces/fabrics. Use as directed."

"hard, non-porous surfaces"
That would not be fabric.

Tide: Let's make a coronavirus-killing fabric spray!
Tide Laboratories: Sir, we tried, we failed.
Tide: Put it out there anyway! (recoup costs!)
It says: Spray is designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria* left behind on fabrics, as well as fight germs on hard surfaces (when used as directed).

So apparently it does both.

I can't stand this ad kid sprays everything in the house....... what they are not saying is the backside of this ...... I have said it before but MRSA is a real issue and this overuse of sanitizer and anti bacterial items will create "super bugs" of the future.....

All the recent laundry ads recently are showing "Hidden dirt or germs" ........
i want to ask "so your product before did not really clean? "
blatant ads designed around fear of this Virus i will avoid buying or supporting the places or products involved.

We are told to wash our hands with soap and water in order to kill the bacteria on our hands. Are we now being told that soap and water is effective on our hands but not on our laundry?

The list of companies trying to "capitalize" on this Virus....by making people think that their product somehow reduces the risk of infection...seems to be growing by the day. Whatever the current "hot topic" is, their advertising department is constantly looking for ways to make the public think that the company is being "socially responsible".....yeah, right....but Only if it contributes to the profits.

....there's a special place in Hell for those whose primary activity is to deceive the public. Does this statement make me sound like I'm "down" on advertisers? That would be correct.

Why, no. Laundry must be sterilized, or it won't be safe to wear.
What could be worse than Escherichia coli, and Proteus mirabilis?
I dated Escherichia & her sister, Mirabilis. They were both dates from hell.

I posted back hen the virus started that someone is going to make a lot of money sanitizing and I think I was right.
