To everything there is a season

That is surely a wise advice, for do we not become most unhappy when grasping for things out of time?

We all seek peace, we have our ideal vision of how life ought to be - but who and what do we allow to shape that picture?

We laugh or marvel at the elderly who do things that belong to youth, or at the young who show precocious abilities in doing that which belongs to the mature. In both cases is a hidden price.

The old man who marries a too young woman, the old woman with a 'toy boy', the child star encouraged to chase fame who cannot possibly handle the pitfalls.

It is worth thinking how we shape our expectations because then we have a chance to think and save ourselves much unhappiness. Nobody can have it all, no perfect life exists. Yet this is the picture presented through so many media.
