I can remember my grandmother's knitting circle challenging each other to knit argyle scarves, socks, and mittens. I couldn't have been more than 4 or 5.

I had no idea what argyle was, but I was old enough to I know that none of us needed mittens...we lived in the farmlands of California's sunny Sacramento Valley.

Torquhil Ian Campbell is the 13th Duke of Argyll and the current head of Clan Campbell. He is also the Marquess of Kintyre and Lorne, Earl of Argyll, Campbell, and Cowal, and Viscount Lochawe and Glenyla.



Background:

• The Campbell family is one of the oldest and most well-known clans in Scotland.
